How Long Does A Manzilian Wax Last?
Just like with any waxing treatment, the longevity of your smooth Manzilian results can vary from person to person. Generally, you can expect that freshly waxed, baby-smooth feeling to last for approximately two weeks before those stubborn little stubbles start making their appearance. However, don’t fret—the good news is that you can typically go about four to six weeks before needing another Manzilian session to maintain that sleek look.

Achieving the best results with a Manzilian wax comes down to having the right hair length. To ensure proper removal, your hair should ideally be at least ¼ of an inch (or about 6mm) in length. This length allows the wax to grip the hair effectively, ensuring a thorough and smooth waxing experience.

Does A Brazilian Wax For Guys Hurt?

Now, let’s address the million-dollar question: does it hurt? Well, that largely depends on your personal pain threshold. For some, the sensation of a Manzilian wax can be a bit uncomfortable during the first visit, but the good news is that it tends to get easier with subsequent sessions. The more regularly you wax, the less discomfort you’ll likely experience.

To make the process as painless as possible, consider these tips:

  • Steer clear of excessive caffeine or alcohol intake before your appointment.
  • Take an over-the-counter anti-inflammatory, like Ibuprofen, about an hour before your waxing session.
  • Remember, it’s often not as bad as you might anticipate, and the smooth results are well worth it.

Manzilian Etiquette: What to Know for a Smooth Experience

  • Prepare by removing your clothes to avoid wax spillage and provide easy access for the treatment.
  • Maintain personal space and act respectfully, similar to a doctor’s visit.
  • Allow your esthetician to move around you while you stay relaxed.
  • Avoid scheduling a Manzilian right after strenuous physical activities like sports or working out.
  • Sweat can affect wax adhesion, so it’s best to come fresh.
  • Refrain from consuming alcohol before your appointment, as it can increase discomfort during the waxing process.

Here are our top tips for maintaining bump-free skin in between waxes :

  • Moisturise the waxed area regularly, preferably with a cream containing antiseptic properties such as tea tree oil, aloe vera and witch-hazel, which will also help to alleviate any irritation. Ingrown hairs are often caused by dry or flaky skin which does not allow the hairs to grow through. If you are moisturising your intimate bits, be sure to use an appropriate cream that won’t aggravate these most sensitive of areas.

  • Exfoliate the waxed area several times a week to get rid of dead skin cells. Again, if it’s an intimate area, make sure you choose a suitable scrub that is not highly-perfumed. The exfoliator needs to be grainy enough to have an effect, but not so harsh that will irritate your skin or make it sore. In fact, over-exfoliation or the use of an unsuitable scrub will graze the skin and may actually cause ingrown hairs, rather than prevent them.

  • Dead sea salt used as bath salts can help prevent infection as can anti-bacterial shower gels. Dead sea salt baths may sting in the first 24 hours after waxing, but could be used several times a week thereafter in the week immediately following your wax.

  • Loofahs and exfoliating mitts can be used in the shower but these must be kept clean and dry, and should be replaced regularly. These are especially useful for men exfoliating areas such as their backs and chests after waxing. For non-intimate areas of the body, dry brushing can have a useful exfoliating effect.

  • Some people find that rubbing antiseptic cream into the waxed area for 3 days after treatment soothes and protects the skin. Always wash your hands before applying any product.

  • And remember…

  • No fake tans, massages, extreme heat treatments (e.g. very hot baths or showers, saunas, steam rooms), swimming, sunbathing (including sun beds or any other exposure to UV light) or tight clothing for 24-48 hours.Try and avoid exercise for 24 hours as getting sweaty could clog the hair follicles. Do not scratch or touch the area with unwashed hands.Avoid applying deodorant, anything perfumed or make-up to the waxed area for 24 hours.
